Project Manager / Key Support Worker

Brief info

Mark is a people focussed person, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to inspire others, who has more than 15 years of experience in customer facing roles within the Armed Forces, Veterans, Service Leavers and Families community. Although he has not served in the forces he has experience of service life with family who have served over several generations within The Royal Artillery. He has vast experience whilst working for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) as a multi skilled adviser dealing with Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance and Incapacity Benefit with a diverse range of clients with both mental and physical health issues. He has built and maintained close working relationships with local employers assisting and advising in the placing of vacancies, promoting, securing and managing on-going work experience placements and work trials for clients.

Mark has many qualifications that are relevant to the role including a National Award from the DWP for ‘Excellence in Diversity and Equality’ and ‘Customer Service’ which were awarded for work within the Armed Forces Community as the Armed Forces Zone Lead for Devon based in Exeter.

He was instrumental in the creation and setting up of the original Devon and Exeter Armed Forces Community Support Hub in 2014 bringing together all relevant military focussed organisations, charities and providers. As of 2015 Mark became The National Manager successfully managing and driving The Project forward in Exeter, and overseeing offices in Warrington and Cardiff which along with Exeter successfully engaged with nearly 1000 clients from Tri Service backgrounds, placing over 50% of them back into sustainable employment and those that could not work into some form of meaningful occupation.
