Volunteer / Key Support Worker
Brief info
Janine is a volunteer support worker who has recently left the Royal Navy after 25 years service. Joining at 16 as a Junior Wren Operator Maintainer (Communications) she served on HMS Exeter, HMS Liverpool, RN Gibraltar and British Forces Falkland Island before transferring to the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service (QARNNS).
Within her new nursing role she climbed the ranks and specialised as an Emergency Care Nurse before commissioning in 2013. Working across a broad spectrum of medical specialities she deployed to Afghanistan on numerous tours working on the wards and in the Emergency Department, was the Senior Nursing Officer for Op Patwin in support of the humanitarian crisis and was a Troop Commander of a Medical Reception Station whilst working with Med Sqn, 3 Cdo Brigade.
Her last draft was as Deputy Matron for the Military staff at Derriford Hospital Plymouth.
With a passion for mentorship and coaching she enjoys keeping fit, learning and new things, she brings together the Veteran’s partners, families and friends group.
